Unibet "bet" on Internet poker

Unibet Group plc, listed on the Stockholmsbörsen O-list, has entered into an agreement with the Swedish company 24hBET AB (publ) to launch poker on the site. Through this agreement Unibet will be able to supply poker online to its customers via a joint company. Both parties will encourage other Internet gambling operators to connect to this new poker network.

The launch will be in September 2004. Unibet has a strong brand name and a large customer base in the Nordic area, and 24hBET has both specialist knowledge of poker and high quality software. This venture is very exciting as poker is the fastest growing segment within online gambling. The global market for online poker is expected to generate annual income of approx 5-10 billion SEK for operators.
